Thank you for using Appala Lyrics Music Player ("the App", "we", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your choices. We are committed to protecting your privacy and keeping this policy easy to understand.

📂 Information We Access

The App accesses the following on your device:

• Local audio files & music library metadata — song titles, artists, albums, durations, and album artwork already stored on your device. This is required to build and display your music library.
• Storage permission — to read audio files for playback.

All music library data stays on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.

🌐 Network Requests

The App makes outbound network requests only for these purposes:

• Lyrics fetching — song title and artist name are sent to a third-party lyrics API to retrieve time-synced lyrics. No personally identifiable information is transmitted.
• Album artwork — when artwork is missing from your library, the App queries a public artwork service using the artist and album name to download a cover image.

These requests do not include your device identifier, name, email, or any other personal data.

📊 Crash Reporting & Diagnostics

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports when the App encounters an unexpected error. Crash reports may include:

• Device model and operating system version
• App version and build number
• Stack trace at the time of the crash

This data is used solely to identify and fix bugs. It is processed by Google LLC under Firebase's privacy terms. No information about your music library, listening habits, or personal identity is included in crash reports.

⚙️ Remote Configuration

The App uses Firebase Remote Config to deliver feature flags and configuration updates without requiring a full app update. No personal data is sent during a Remote Config fetch.

💾 Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Playback preferences (shuffle, repeat mode, sleep timer settings)
• Last-played song, for session restore on next launch
• Crossfade duration setting
• Playlists you create and their contents
• Cached album artwork downloaded by the Auto-Artwork Finder

This data never leaves your device unless explicitly shared by you. You can clear it at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's storage in your device settings.

🚫 Data We Do NOT Collect

• Name, email address, or any account information
• Location data
• Microphone or camera access
• Contacts, calendar, or any other personal data
• Browsing history or cross-app tracking
• Advertising identifiers

🔒 Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Firebase (Google LLC) — Crashlytics, Remote Config, App Check. Google Privacy Policy
• Lyrics & artwork providers — publicly available APIs queried anonymously.

👶 Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can address it promptly.
